Terms and Conditions

Metro (Private) Limited
The following Terms and Conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) govern the purchase of the product(s) you have selected in your basket at Metro.com.sg (the “Products”). The term “Metro” refers to Metro (Private) Limited (UEN 195700030E), a company incorporated in Singapore and having its registered office at 391A Orchard Road #17-01 Ngee Ann City Tower A Singapore 238873.

Placing an Order
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and a resident of Singapore to purchase the Products. When you place an order to purchase the Products, your order constitutes an offer to purchase the Products. Metro has absolute discretion to reject your order without any reason. All orders are subject to acceptance by Metro. Metro may accept an order in full or in part. Your order is accepted when Metro confirms your order by electronic mail or telephone. No cancellation is allowed after Metro confirms the order, unless Metro allows the cancellation which will be subject to Metro’s discretion and prevailing policies.

Availability, Description and Price
The availability, description and prices of the Products are as stated in Metro.com.sg product list. All prices are stated in Singapore Dollars, inclusive of Goods and Service Tax. All Products are on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Metro does not warrant that the availability, descriptions and prices of the Products stated in Metro.com.sg product list are accurate and complete. Metro will not be liable in any way for any inaccuracy and incompleteness in relation to the availability, descriptions and prices of the Products stated in Metro.com.sg product list. All items available for online purchase are not guaranteed to be in stock at the time of order processing. If we are unable to fulfill your order, you will be offered an alternative or given a refund for the unavailable product.

Any discounts and rebates offered are subject to terms and conditions as Metro may from time to time prescribe. All discounts and rebates offered may be withdrawn/cancelled by Metro without notice. All free gifts offered may be withdrawn at any time without notice. Free gifts are whilst stocks last. Free gifts are not exchangeable.

Payment
All payments shall be subject to the payment methods and terms and conditions of our payment service providers. You must read the terms and conditions of the payment service providers before purchasing the Products.

Collection and Delivery
Please present your Order Confirmation Receipt to collect your merchandise.
You can collect your online purchases in store at our Customer Service Counter.

Overseas Delivery
Overseas delivery is subjected to location and freight charges will be borne by customer. Freight charges will be given calculated based on location and weight and shared with customer before shipping. Payment of freight charges must be fulfilled before items is shipped out. Email metroonline@metro.com.sg, should you have any queries on overseas delivery.

Instalment payment plan (IPP)

Terms & Conditions
(With effect from 15 Jan 2019)

Payment

  1. IPP is applicable for order with payment made by UOB Credit Card only.
  2. 6 month instalments are available for a minimum purchase of $500 in a single order / transaction on Metro.com.sg and Metro stores with payment made by a UOB Credit Card.

Refunds & Cancellations

  1. Cancellation of orders under IPP are only allowed if items ordered have not been fulfilled and delivered by Metro.
  2. In the event of a cancellation, refund will be in the form of Metro Credit Vouchers. You are required to fulfil the instalments cycle to the bank until payment completion.

Risk of Loss and Damage
Risk of loss and damage of the Products passes to you on the date that the Products are delivered to the Delivery Address or are collected by you. Metro shall retain title to the Products until such time as payment for the Products has been effected.

Returns and Exchange
Metro may allow returns and exchanges of the Products which will be subject to Metro’s discretion and prevailing policies. Should returns be allowed, refund will either be in the form of credit vouchers or the amount to be refunded will be credited back to the credit card used for the purchase.

Liability
Metro excludes all representations, warranties, conditions and terms (whether express or implied by statute, common law or otherwise) fully permitted by law. Metro will not be liable for damages which are not reasonably foreseeable arising out of or about the Products and use of Metro.com.sg.

Except to the extend required by the applicable law, Metro will not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of or reliance on any content or information displayed at Metro.com.sg.

Metro will not be liable to you or any party for any damage, losses, expenses or costs whatsoever (including without limitation, any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, or economic loss or loss of opportunity) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Metro.com.sg, or reliance on any information, materials or online services provided at Metro.com.sg, regardless of the form of action and even if Metro had been advised as to the possibility of such damages. This exclusion clause shall take effect fully permitted by Singapore law.

In any event, and notwithstanding anything contained in the Terms and Conditions, Metro’s maximum aggregate liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty) or otherwise arising out of or about your use of Metro.com.sg shall be limited to the price of the Products purchased from Metro.com.sg

Waiver/Invalidity
Metro’s failure to insist upon strict performance of any provisions hereof shall not be deemed a waiver of its rights and remedies. The invalidity of any provision of the Terms and Conditions shall not adversely affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Entire Agreement
The Terms and Conditions supersedes all prior representations, understandings and agreements between Metro and you.

Variation
Metro reserves the right to modify the Terms and Conditions at Metro’s discretion. Such modification will be effective immediately.

Applicable Law
The Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed under the laws of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore in relation to and/or about the Terms and Conditions.
