MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
A Belgian fashion designer, who studied at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts.From 1984-1987, the Assistant of Jean Paul Gaultier. He became the forerunner of a philosophy based on series of “breaking the rules”, like a fashion counter culture.In his namesake label, Margiela continued to "break the rules" by establishing the white cotton label, with no logo on it, simply just numbers from 0 to 23 indicating to which line the product belongs. The label is sewed on a four white-thread stitch model that can be removed.It is not only the brand’s distinctive code, but also their code of confidentiality.Once you are familiarized with the codes, you are part of those who know Maison Martin Margiela.
